"When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage
and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point
in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back."
Hello, I am Charlotte, Psychotherapist, Coach and Founder of In COURAGE - a space where you can cultivate conscious awareness, self connection and courage during challenge.
As a professional practitioner, I integrate traditional psychology within a holistic perspective and hold the belief that at the core of every human being is the inclination to move towards wholeness and wellness.
As an advocate of talking therapies, I have found that words are one of the most powerful tools we have as human beings: it is through words that we can tell our story, speak our truth and connect with our will to make change. If we are unable to express our thoughts, feelings or experiences, they manifest into limiting mindsets or we act out our struggles in detrimental ways. As meaning-seeking beings, it is essential for our wellbeing to give a voice to our internal world and to 'own our story', rather it 'own us'.
In both counselling and coaching sessions, I journey alongside you, at your pace, and reflect with you how your history may have influenced your beliefs, choices and behaviours in adult life; guide you in cultivating self-compassion and emotional intelligence, and help you to engage with your will to make positive life choices and realise your true potential.
I have worked with clients from all walks of life, in the UK and across the globe; and wholeheartedly believe in the therapeutic process and its reparative outcomes: for when we are aligned with our authentic self, we can embrace life from a place of courage, will and choice. Working together is the first step.
“Courage is a heart word. The root of the word courage is cor - the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant "To speak one's mind by telling all one's heart." (Brené Brown)
